January Goals

 

Happy New Year! I'm starting the year with a Goals post in the hopes of keeping it going all year long. Last year I did do a few monthly goals posts, and found that I achieved and progressed way more when I had set goals for the month rather than just going about things willy-nilly. So knowing that, I've set myself some major goals this year, and am breaking them down into monthly and weekly sections. I won't bore you by going into the weekly (or even daily) tasks to meet my goals, but I'll be doing goals posts at the beginning of every month.

Blogging Goals

  • Engage more on Social Media and Blogs. I think I've been getting better at this, but I still find myself deleting replies and comments before I send them when anxiety gets the better of me. I want to really work on this as I can't expect others to comment and engage with me when I don't do it with them, plus I hope to make some more blogger friends!
  • Write more. I want to write more in general. More tweets, longer captions on Instagram, journaling, and blogging. I also want to write more about what I would want to read about, and not just the bits that I think others would also want to read. I've kept back a few posts over 2017 purely because I didn't think very many people would relate, but I think it's more to do with finding the people who do find it relatable rather than trying to relate to people who lead a completely different lifestyle to me.
  • Post about Mental Health more often. I have a couple posts related to Mental Health, but I'd like to write more about this as it is such an important topic. So many bloggers and advocates are doing an amazing job on raising awareness and I'd like to join them.

Personal Goals

  • Read The Book of Dust. The overall goal here is to read more than I have been. I was gifted The Book of Dust for Christmas, and so I thought I'd start there! I'd like to finish the book before the end of January, so I've worked out I need to read 20 pages a day. I think it'll be easy enough, I just need to be more efficient with my time.
  • Keep a gratitude journal. I did this for a while last year and I was definitely more positive and focused more on the good things happening , however small. I think this will be a good addition to my planner this year.
  • Drink more water & eat healthier. I definitely don't drink enough water, and I eat a lot of the same foods. I want to expand my cooking skills and cook different meals, more veggies and fruits, and I think it's a sin to have my chickens and not eat many eggs! They're happy hens, so the eggs are amazing! I definitely need to start eating them more.
  • Create routines and keep to them. I've fallen out of my routines and I end up wasting a lot of time deciding what needs doing when. I want to stop that, and make myself some routines to keep to.
